Finn Awarded Purchasing Contracts!

hydrograsscorp.com is extremely excited to announce that Finn has been awarded two national purchasing contracts: one from the National Joint Powers Association
(NJPA) and one by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC). What are these groups and who can use the programs?

The National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) is a national Municipal contracting agency serving over 50,000 member agencies nationwide with competitively bid and awarded contract purchasing solutions from only premium level vendors and suppliers. NJPA membership is available in all 50 states and is available to government, education and non-profit agencies at no cost or obligation. NJPA establishes and provides nationally leveraged and competitively solicited purchasing contracts under the guidance of
the Uniform Municipal Contracting Law. Joint Powers laws enable members to legally purchase through their awarded contracts without having to go through the bid process. State, local and federal municipalities and agencies, hospitals and colleges & universities are able to utilize NJPA to help streamline and simplify their purchase processes.

H-GAC works very much the same way as NJPA but on a smaller scale. This Cooperative Purchasing Program offers a service known as HGACBuy. HGACBuy is a “Government-to-Government” procurement service available nationwide. HGACBuy strives to make the governmental procurement process more efficient by establishing competitively priced
contracts and providing the customer service necessary to help its members achieve their procurement goals. Cooperative procurement contracts are based on the quality and performance of the equipment/products and support of the on-going customer services. According to these agencies their vendors are contracted to meet or exceed their members expectations and have a local support system in place for its products. We are very hopeful that these new contracts will help some of our not for profit customers purchase equipment that will be fairly priced, dealer supported, industry backed and will last them for many years to come.

As John Ruskin said,
“It is unwise to pay too much but worse to pay too little. When you pay too much all you lose is a little money. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything
because the thing you thought you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a
lot, it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest price it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
